Flow Meters and New Flow Table.
The irrigation committee has found that the flow table provided in the training material is incorrect. We have measured and observed flows over the past few weeks when only one person was running water and determined that the Idaho table for ?“miners inches?” is a more accurate gauge of the water we receive. The old formula we used was approximately 1 inch of water equals 11 gallons per minute. Observation and measurement tells us that the rate is actually 1 inch equals 9 gallons per minute. A new table is attached. If you would like to find a copy an officially posted table, try out this web address: http://www.idwr.idaho.gov/water/supply/h2oconv.htm For now ?– to make it equitable for all users of the irrigation system we will use the formula 1 inch equals 9 gallons per minute.

Keeping the Distribution Box filled.
You must work to achieve this when you are watering. Keeping the box filled means that the pressure in the pipes will be consistent during the irrigation day. Keeping it full also prevents the pump primer section from being exposed and the pump pickup from potentially sucking air.
Team Up.
It is helpful if you coordinate with the other people irrigating on the same day. We suggest that if possible, you meet at the distribution box at 06:15 am and greet the other people running water that day.
Overflow Water.
If water is overflowing the distribution box, the people that have ordered irrigation water for that day need to adjust their valves appropriately to prevent significant overflow. This may take several minutes giving time for the whole system to adjust to any changes that are made.
